CORONAVIRUS

We are really pleased to be able to confirm that Bramlies is open for “new normal” business in line with Government guidelines.

We want all guests to feel, and be, safe when staying with us. Until the pandemic has abated very significantly, providing a safe environment for our guests’ protection is really important to us. We have always had high reviews for cleanliness but we will be enhancing this significantly by, in particular, fogging the bedrooms to NHS standards on room changeovers. Fogging effectively destroys 99.9% of all harmful airborne bacteria and infectious organisms that rest on surfaces. Rooms will remain as your “bubble” for the duration of your stay unless you specifically request the room to be serviced.

Breakfast will be served “al fresco” or to your rooms for this season to ensure social distancing and access to the rooms is direct from the garden. We are taking bookings with full refunds if required due to Coronavirus.

BOOKINGS

Please preferably book by phone for the moment so we can ensure we leave a minimum of 24 hours to allow for full sanitisation of rooms either side of your reservation in line with our Risk Assessment to ensure your safety. It would help us if you could confirm if you have had your COVID vaccination when you make your reservation.

Welcome

Alison and family look forward to extending you a very warm welcome. We pride ourselves on our excellent service and guest accommodation, with beautifully furnished en-suite rooms, including 2 detached ground floor rooms. A varied breakfast menu is available, and we use high quality local produce wherever possible.

Staying with us in Dorchester means you are ideally situated for exploring Hardy’s beautiful Dorset countryside and the dramatic World Heritage Coast. At Bramlies you will also find yourself right on the edge of HRH Prince Charles’ development of Poundbury, with its unusual architecture and individual shops.

There is off road parking for cars as well as hardstanding parking suitable for motorcycles.

We have a lovely decked area in the garden where you are welcome to relax with a tea, coffee, or a glass of wine after your day out. We are able to provide packed lunches on request and we offer free WIFI.

We are a non-smoking house, although smoking is permitted in the garden.

Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate pets.

Where are we?

We are situated 10-15 minutes walk from the shops and attractions of Dorchester and are near to Dorset County Hospital (DCH) (less than 5 minutes walk) and the Dorset History Centre, formerly the Dorset County Records office (7 minutes walk). The nearest pub/restaurant is The Poet Laureate on Poundbury which is a 5-10 minute walk away. There are numerous other restaurants and pubs in the town centre. We are just a 30 minute drive (or bus ride) from the beautiful coast line where Broadchurch was filmed.

Within 2 minutes walk from Bramlies is the bus stop for the X51 bus which takes you to the Jurassic coast at Bridport, Lyme Regis, and on to Axminster. Buses to Weymouth also stop here – a great way to travel without hassle! Also within walking distance are Dorchester’s 2 railway stations.
